EXCELLENT

I was incredibly pleased with this. You excell in what i personally think is one of the most important elements in telling a story: the music. All of it was great. I was pissed that James Newton Howard made such good music for those completely shitty movies. You put it to much better use though. I also noticed in the beginning, I think it was music from "The Abyss". I could be wrong though. Needless to say your animation is great and so is the story. Very VERY well done.

Unbelievable

That was phoenomenal. You are extremely talented. That is probably the best action flash I've seen on Newgrounds. Can't wait for this. Absolutely brilliant.

haha

You get a 4 because I laughed. Haha were there really six artists involved in this? If there was, it's six times funnier.

TheSoulMan responds:

hell yes they sure did a lot of the work

Haha

I was definitely satisfied with this. Haha, us men...such simple creatures. This demonstrates that perfectly. I thought it was hilarious even though it was only like a minute. Well done. Good writing.

Interesting and Thought Provoking

This is a very good short story. I LOVE the end. An artist would do something like that. A great commentary about the concept of art and the struggle that comes with it. I loved it. Great job.

Very Impressive

I was very happy to see something like this. Newgrounds needs more movies like this. Unfortunately, society is filled with idiots that fill their heads with Hollywood garbage and don't want to have to analyze what they're watching. For those of us who want more than that and actually put our brains to use, you gave us exactly that. Needless to say it was in a very deep and powerful emotional way.

Anyway. I plan on giving this a second viewing, but first time around, here's what I thought the theme or moral could have been. I'm sure I may be off, but what I gathered from it is this seemed to be about moral sacrifice through betrayal. It reminded me a bit of the whole McCarthyism concept consisting of people being forced into giving up other innocent people who were once close to them in order to save themselves. As for the man himself, the fact that we never actually see his physical features, only a black silhouette, may suggest that he is completely empty, physically and emotionally. And even after he is released, he is still a black silhouette, meaning he got nothing back after being getting out. Upon realizing this and the betrayal he has brought upon others (possibly the corpse his tear falls into), he decides that he is not a clean soul even though he was told he was doing the right thing. Perhaps thats what the red "up" sign was suggesting. But the fact that he descends to his death in the end may mean that he was given no such glorious fate. Only a dark and shameful one, which is what he felt he deserved.

I'm not sure if the bridge itself meant anything, but if it did, I would think that was a metaphor for his own personal purgatory. Seeing that he had already gone through a form of purgatory through the camp, he refuses to let himself be judged again and would rather be his own judge by sealing his fate and punishing himself.

As for WHEN this takes place, could be anytime, but the signs say 1951-2007 and things like that so my guess for that is maybe this is a post World War III type situation.

As for the title, my guess is it suggests that human beings are no better than the creatures we label to be "Animals". As most animals do, we will do anything to survive, even if it means killing off our own kind to do so. We're no different than animals on a food chain in predator prey relationships and we are hypocrites for thinking we're above all that. If anything, we are worse.

But like I said, I could be totally off here because thats just my first guess after first viewing. Maybe you could respond or message me letting me know if thats right or totally wrong.

Anyway, VERY impressive work, artistically and emotionally. Newgrounds needs more submissions like that. Well done.

AtmosGames responds:

Wow! What a review! Thanks! Hey, very deep and very thought through. As for the correct theme, its up to you to discover. :)

Impressive

I don't know what you use to animate your car chases but I like it. Hopefully you'll read this. If your interested, maybe you could animate a chase sequence or two for my new movie. Just let me know.

Superb

THIS is what I like to see. VERY well done in pretty much ALL aspects. This gave me the feel of a real film, which I am ALL for. I loved the tension you set up. When it ended, I was definitely on the edge of my seat begging for more, which is great. I can tell this series is really gonna go places and I can't wait to see where it goes. PLEASE release part 2 soon. Keep it up.

Um...okay. Where to start...

I didn't FULLY enjoy this movie, but there were aspects to it that I enjoyed. The whole concept with the unicorns and the kidney thing was pretty good. I like that this wasn't just another little madness tribute that looks the same as all the others. I can also see that you put time into this, which I respect. However, I think rather than just having pictures of ponies hopping up and down stabbing and shooting eachother doesn't really impress the audience. I would've rather seen you animate them yourself and have them move a bit more. That's what makes madness work. They're simple looking characters, but there's alot of movement involved. Your concept pretty much works, just work on the animating part and you're good. But who am I to judge. I mean you made front page.

And just a little advice, it's probably not smart to respond to all your negative reviews by calling the reviewers stupid hacks. Anything you or anyone else submits, somewhere along the line, there's going to be people that criticize it. There's no need to get all pissed off and yell at them for doing so. It's always gonna happen no matter what so just let it go and move on. It's not worth rebuttling over.

Anyway, nice flash. I'd like to see what else you come out with in the future.
